Catherine Allinson FRGS MSc

Regional Demonstrators Director

CatherineCatherine has a broad range of skills tailored to facilitating relationships at top level, and managing global programmes with tangible outcomes.

After a first career spanning 15 years at the top of the international feature film industry, working with A-rated Hollywood stars and travelling the world in pursuit of artistic endeavour (see IMDB), the shock of global environmental change and issues of inequitable development motivated Catherine to dramatically change her career.

Catherine set up Future Earth, her facilitation and international programme management consultancy, in 2011, having qualified as a prize winning climate scientist and held roles at Overseas Development Institute as Business Development and Programme Manager within the Climate and Environment Team.  Whilst there, she developed a keen sense of how to minimise risks and maximise opportunities for adaptation and resilience, by moving to a sustainable global model of development, through collaboration, common sense business approaches and positive engagement, building on her skills and experiences as Engagement Manager at The Energy Saving Trust between 2008 and 2011, where she worked across a variety of public and private sector organisations.

Philipp Ulbrich MIED MSc BSc(Hons)

Development Researcher

Philipp UlbrichPhilipp has a background in economic development and business (BSc Hons. Management, Warwick Business School; MSc Local Economic Development, London School of Economics) and is part of the third EPSRC funded cohort of MPhil/PhD students at the Warwick Institute for the Science of Cities (2016/2020). He has worked in urban and regional development and infrastructure projects in the UK and Latin America as well as foreign direct investment with national and municipal governments in Europe and Canada.
