Ecological Sequestration Trust joins UN Global Compact

The Ecological Sequestration Trust has been formally accepted as a participant in the United Nations Global Compact. This is a global network that unites business and non-business entities in a shared commitment to ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, environment. Its overarching objectives are to mainstream the ten principles in business activities around the world, and to catalyse action in support of broader UN goals, including the Millennium Development Goals.

The Ecological Sequestration Trust brings together leading global experts, innovators and entrepreneurs to adopt a systemic approach to defining economically and ecologically sustainable solutions to the world’s climate and resource challenges, through integrated infrastructure and community planning.

As a civil society participant in the UN Global Compact, we welcome the opportunity for constructive involvement with others from the business and non-business sectors to advance the ten principles. We will contribute via knowledge sharing and thought leadership focused on our core areas of expertise and charitable goals, which centre on the creation of closed-loop systems using integrated solutions to achieve water, energy and food security without high emissions and pollution. We embrace the Global Compact as a vehicle for collaboration and dissemination of open-source tools and learning within the public, private and charitable sectors as we seek to scale up the action required to achieve a low carbon, resource efficient economy.
